KAMPALA- The\r\nPresident, His Excellence Museveni has named High Court Judge, Hon. Justice Benjamin\r\nIsingoma Kabiito the new chairman of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC),\r\nbringing the six-month wait to an end.
\r\n\r\n
Hon.\r\nJustice Kabiito replaces Hon. Justice James Ogoola who retired in February this\r\nyear (2016) after his four-year term elapsed and was not eligible for\r\nreappointment. He had turned 70, the retirement age ceiling.
\r\n\r\n
Hon.\r\nJustice Kabiito, who is currently based at Fort Portal High Court, will be deputized\r\nby Supreme Court Justice, Hon. Lady Justice Faith Mwondha.

The\r\ncommissioners are; former Uganda Law Society president Ms Ruth Sebatindira, Ms\r\nNorah Matovu Winyi, Dr Laban Nnini Kirya, Ms Rose Nyakikongoro, Ms Amongin\r\nAporu and Ms Justin A. Mugabi.

The\r\nparliament’s Appointments Committee has set Wednesday 14, 2016 for vetting of\r\nthe new Judicial Service Commission members. The\r\nJSC’s main mandate is to recruit judicial officers and regulate their conduct.
